Taxi or Limousine?

You have likely heard these comments before......

"I'm the top salesperson in my company"

"I sell more homes in a week than most agents sell in a month"

"I deliver the highest level of service"

"I'm the number one listing agent in my office."

So what do these statements really mean? It means you're listening to a traditional agent.  Unlike a professional Realtor, traditional  agents put the focus solely on themselves leaving the client's concerns as a secondary consideration.  Why?  Because  traditional agents can't articulate how they differ from the other 8000 agents in our market area so they resort to bloated claims and unquantifiable statements. 

So what IS the difference between a traditional agent and professional Realtor?  This can best be answered through  this metaphor; What's the difference  between taking a taxi or a limousine to the airport?  Obviously, both will get you to your destination, but the experience getting there is very different. 

A professional Realtor focuses first on their clients needs and circumstances and never resorts to the traditional agent's "one size fits all" approach to real estate.  Should you be treated just like every other buyer or seller regardless of your individual circumstances?  Would you allow your physician  to give you the same treatment he prescribed to every other patient he or she examined that day?  Never!  Your individual symptoms and needs are considered and a personalized treatment will be administered.  A professional Realtor listens carfully to each client's unique desires, circumstances and time frames and takes that into account.

So how can you differentiate between a traditional agent and a professional Realtor? By in-depth questioning.  Questions that will quickly separate those who have only a basic level of knowledge from those who possess an intense, qualifiable knowledge  of contracts, addenda, title commitments, surveys and contract law as well as interpretive skills.
